Arthur Earle was born on 14 December 1838.1 He was the son of Sir Hardman Earle, 1st Bt. and Mary Langton.2 He married Ida Euphemia Bertie Matthew, daughter of Sir George Buckley Matthew, on 19 November 1867.1 He died on 5 February 1919 at age 80.1
He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1
