     Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon was born on 1 November 1782.1 He was the son of Thomas Robinson, 2nd Baron Grantham and Lady Mary Jemima Yorke.1 He married Lady Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart, daughter of Robert Hobart, 4th Earl of Buckinghamshire and Margaretta Bourke, on 1 September 1814.4 He died on 28 January 1859 at age 76.1
     He held the office of First Lord of the Treasury between 1827 and 1828.1 He held the office of Prime Minister between 1827 and 1828.5 He was created 1st Viscount Goderich [U.K.] on 28 April 1827.1 He held the office of Secretary of State for the Colonies.1 He held the office of Lord Privy Seal.1 He was created 1st Earl of Ripon, co. York [U.K.] on 13 April 1833.1

     Ethel Adeline Pottinger was the daughter of Sir Henry Pottinger, 3rd Bt.1 She married Henry Meysey Meysey-Thompson, 1st and last Baron Knaresborough, son of Sir Harry Stephen Meysey-Thompson, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Croft, on 21 April 1885.1 She died on 18 August 1922.1
     Her married name became Meysey-Thompson. After her marriage, Ethel Adeline Pottinger was styled as Baroness Knaresborough on 26 December 1905.

     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1856.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Whitby between 1859 and 1865.2 He was created 1st Baronet Meysey-Thompson, of Kirby Hall, co.      Sir John Croft, 1st Bt. was born on 21 March 1778 at Oporto, Portugal.2 He was the son of John Croft and Henrietta Maria Tunstall.3 He married, firstly, Amelia Elizabeth Warre, daughter of James Warre, on 1 August 1816.1 He married, secondly, Anne Knox Radcliffe, daughter of Reverend John Radcliffe, on 24 July 1827.1 He died on 5 February 1862 at age 83.1
     He was a Portuguese Commissioner.1 He was Hon. Chargé d'Affaires at Lisbon, PortugalG.1 He was created 1st Baronet Croft, of Cowling Hall, Yorkshire [U.K.] on 17 December 1818.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was awarded the Knight, Order of the Tower and Sword of Portugal (K.T.S.) in 1821.1 He was created 1st Baron da Serra da Estrella [Portugal] in 1854.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.1 He lived at Doddington Place, Sittingbourne, Kent, EnglandG.1
