     On 9 March 1643 he was retoured heir to his father.1

     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. was born in 1645.1 He was the son of Alexander Jardine of Applegirth.2 He married Lady Margaret Douglas, daughter of James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry and Lady Margaret Stewart, before 1675.1 He died before 1689.1
     He succeeded as the 1st Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [Nova Scotia] on 25 May 1672, with a special remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.1

     From before 1675, her married name became Jardine.1 From 5 December 1689, her married name became Thoirs.1

     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] before 1689.1

     Sir John Jardine of Applegirth, 3rd Bt. was born in 1683.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Douglas.2 He married, firstly, Catherine Lockhart, daughter of Sir James Lockhart, 2nd Bt., in January 1712.1 He married, secondly, Jean Charteris, daughter of William Charteris of Brigmuir, in 1721.2 He died in 1737.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] circa February 1699.1

     Catherine Lockhart is the daughter of Sir James Lockhart, 2nd Bt.2 She married Sir John Jardine of Applegirth, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Douglas, in January 1712.1
     From January 1712, her married name became Jardine.1
