     Charles Alfred Edward Winnington was born on 28 June 1882.2 He was the son of Sir Francis Salwey Winnington, 5th Bt. and Jane Spencer-Churchill.2 He married, firstly, Mary Margaret O'Connor, daughter of William O'Connor, in 1915.2 He married, secondly, Charlotte Ida Frederica Noel, daughter of Admiral Sir Gerard Henry Uctred Noel and Charlotte Rachel Frederica Cresswell, on 5 January 1929.1 He died on 19 January 1968 at age 85, without issue.2
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2
