George Cranstoun and Maria Brisbane.3 He married, firstly, Christiana Inglis Smart on 2 May 1775.1 He married, secondly, Mary Ann Whitefoord, daughter of Major Sir John Whitefoord, 3rd Bt. and Anne Cartwright, on 3 October 1803 at Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,4 He died on 9 February 1843.1,2
     He was with the Navy Pay Office.2

     He was a practising Advocate.1 He entailed the Corehouse estate whereby it ultimately passed to his sister's daughters then their brother's sons.1 He lived at Corehouse, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Sheriff-Depute of Sutherland between 1806 and 1817.3 He held the office of Dean of the Faculty of Advocates in 1823.3 He was styled as Lord Corehouse [Scottish Law Lord] in 1826.1 He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland] in 1826.1
