     Major John Palmer Cochrane was born on 28 March 1852.1 He was the son of Colonel William Marshall Cochrane and Mary Hussey.2 He married Frances Gilbert, daughter of William Gilbert, on 19 June 1882.1 He died on 30 September 1921 at age 69.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Cape Mounted Rifles.1

     Basil William Dundonald Cochrane was born on 17 May 1891.1 He was the son of Major John Palmer Cochrane and Frances Gilbert.2 He married Anne Robertson, daughter of William Robertson, on 22 July 1920.1 He died on 17 June 1953 at age 62.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Cape Mounted Rifles.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 13th Hussars.1 He was Superintendant of Kenya Police.1 He was awarded the Colonial Police Medal (C.P.M.)1 He was appointed Serving Brother, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (S.B.St.J.)1
