     Thomas Fotheringham, 10th of Powrie was the son of Thomas Fotheringham, 9th of Powrie and Barbara Scott.1 He married Margaret Gibson, daughter of Sir Alexander Gibson, Lord Durie and Margaret Craig.1 He died in March 1638.1

     Cecilia Fotheringham was the daughter of Thomas Fotheringham, 10th of Powrie and Margaret Gibson.2,3 She married Sir David Carmichael, 8th of Balmedie, son of David Carmichael, 7th of Balmedie, Craigpottie and Whelphill and Margaret Myrton, on 26 May 1652.1
     From 26 May 1652, her married name became Carmichael.1

     Euphemia Dempster is the daughter of James Dempster of Balbougie.2 She married, secondly, William Gedd.1 She married, firstly, David Carmichael, son of Sir David Carmichael, 8th of Balmedie and Cecilia Fotheringham, on 27 January 1675.1
     Her married name became Gedd.1 From 27 January 1675, her married name became Carmichael.1

David Carmichael, 9th of Balmedie1

     David Carmichael, 9th of Balmedie was born on 7 February 1675.1 He was the son of David Carmichael and Euphemia Dempster.2 He married, secondly, Agnes Murray.1 He married, firstly, Anna Graham, daughter of Thomas Graham, 4th of Balgowan and Anne Drummond, in 1698.1 He died on 7 September 1761 at age 86.3
     He held the office of Heritable Baillie of Abernethy.1 When heritable jurisdictions were abolished in Scotland he received £187 11s. 11d. compensation for loss of his office of Heritable Baillie of Abernethy.1
