     Elizabeth Louisa Whatman Best Bosanquet was born on 27 June 1868.2 She was the daughter of James Whatman Bosanquet and Emily Dorothy Best.1 She married Sir Charles John Monson Shaw, 8th Bt., son of Reverend Charles John Kenward Shaw and Julia Elizabeth Boteler, on 1 June 1893.1 She died on 29 July 1961 at age 93.1
     From 1 June 1893, her married name became Shaw.1

     James Best was born in 1781.2 He was the son of Thomas Best and Elizabeth Irwin.2 He married Harriet Susannah Gaussen, daughter of Samuel Robert Gaussen, on 23 September 1817 at Boxley, Kent, England.2,3 He died on 20 June 1849.2
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the West Kent Militia.2 He lived at Park House, Boxley, Kent, EnglandG.2

     Sir John James Kenward Best-Shaw, 9th Bt. was born on 11 June 1895.1 He was the son of Sir Charles John Monson Shaw, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth Louisa Whatman Best Bosanquet.1 He married Elizabeth Mary Theodora Hughes, daughter of Sir Robert Heywood Hughes, 12th Bt. and Edith Agnes Skinner, on 28 March 1921.2 He died on 26 February 1984 at age 88.1
     He was given the name of John James Kenward Shaw at birth.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Shaw, of the city of London [E., 1665] on 11 September 1922.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 On 20 July 1956 his name was legally changed to John James Kenward Best-Shaw by Royal Licence.1 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent in 1961.1

     He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Hughes, of East Bergholt, co. Suffolk [G.B., 1773] on 6 May 1945.2
