Rose Wynter, on 4 January 1881.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Walton, daughter of J. A. Walton, on 7 July 1898.¹ He died on 14 July 1926 at age 80.¹

     Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt. was born on 22 August 1831 at Poonah, India^G.^2,3 He was the son of Sir Robert Keith Arbuthnot, 2nd Bt. and Anne FitzGerald.^2,4 He married Alice Margaret Tompson, daughter of Reverend Matthew Carrier Tompson, on 11 June 1863.^1,2 He died on 5 June 1889 at age 57.²
     He gained the rank of Major in the 18th Hussars.² He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 4 March 1873.^1,4

     Alice Margaret Tompson was born circa 1841 at Alderminster, Warwickshire, England^G.² She was the daughter of Reverend Matthew Carrier Tompson.¹ She married Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Robert Keith Arbuthnot, 2nd Bt. and Anne FitzGerald, on 11 June 1863.^1,3 She died on 5 May 1889.³
     From 11 June 1863, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹
