He married Maria Theresia Prinzessin von Thurn und Taxis, daughter of Franz Joseph Fürst von Thurn und Taxis and Isabel Maria Alberta de Bragança, Infanta de Portugal, on 19 June 1955 at Schloss Haus. He died on 25 August 1985 at age 66.
