     Brig.-Gen. Sir Ernest Frederick Orby Gascoigne was born on 19 April 1873.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Clifton Gascoigne and Francis Charlotte Wombwell.2 He married Laura Cicely Clive, daughter of General Edward Henry Clive and Isabel Webb, on 12 November 1902.1 He died on 6 January 1944 at age 70.2
     Brig.-Gen. Sir Ernest Frederick Orby Gascoigne was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.).1 He lived at Ashtead Lodge, Ashtead, Surrey, England.
