     Lt.-Cdr. Peter Goldthorne Sugden was the son of Brig.-Gen. Richard Edgar Sugden.1 He married Penelope Anne Erskine, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Thomas Wilfred Hargreaves John Erskine of Cambo, 4th Bt. and Magdalen Janet Anstruther, on 15 October 1941.1 He died in May 1943, as a result of an accident.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1
