Inverness [U.K., 1920] on 1 December 1920, with special remainder to the heirs male of the body of his mother.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1924 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for the Isle of Ely between October 1924 and May 1929.¹ He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1933 entitled to practice as a barrister.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
