     Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden was born on 3 July 1808.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Morton Eden, 2nd Bt. and Anne Smith.2 He married, firstly, Emma Williams, daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 9th Bt. and Anne Lewis, on 17 August 1828.1 He married, secondly, Fanny Cecilia Greville, daughter of Vice-Admiral Henry Francis Greville and Harriet Dorothea Despard, on 30 April 1866.1 He died on 7 March 1878 at age 69, without issue.1
     He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).1 He held the office of a Lord of the Admiralty between 1859 and 1866.1

     Emma Williams was the daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 9th Bt. and Anne Lewis.2 She married Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden, son of Sir Frederick Morton Eden, 2nd Bt. and Anne Smith, on 17 August 1828.1 She died on 8 January 1865.3 She was also reported to have died on 8 January 1866.1
      Her married name became Eden.
