     He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).¹ He held the office of a Lord of the Admiralty between 1859 and 1866.¹

     Emma Williams was the daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 9th Bt. and Anne Lewis.² She married Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden, son of Sir Frederick Morton Eden, 2nd Bt. and Anne Smith, on 17 August 1828.¹ She died on 8 January 1865.³ She was also reported to have died on 8 January 1866.¹
      Her married name became Eden.
