     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Bombay Staff Corps.¹

     William Augustus Portman Foster was born on 2 June 1887.¹ He was the son of Sir William Yorke Foster, 3rd Bt. and Aileen Ethel Portman.¹ He died on 11 November 1914 at age 27, from wounds received in action at Ypres.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the South Staffordshire Regiment.¹

     Major Sir Henry William Berkeley Foster, 4th Bt. was born on 3 April 1892.¹ He was the son of Sir William Yorke Foster, 3rd Bt. and Aileen Ethel Portman.¹ He married Janet Elizabeth Bullen-Smith, daughter of Charles Bullen-Smith, on 27 September 1927.¹ He died on 2 January 1960 at age 67.²
     Major Sir Henry William Berkeley Foster, 4th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Berkeley.¹ He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, here he was wounded twice.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Northumberland Fusliers.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Foster, of the city of Norwich [U.K., 1838] on 14 June 1948.¹ On his death his baronetcy became extinct.²

     Aileen Cavendish Foster is the daughter of Sir William Yorke Foster, 3rd Bt. and Aileen Ethel Portman.¹ She married Dwight Carlton Harris on 1 July 1915.¹
     From 1 July 1915, her married name became Harris.¹
