     Sir William Yorke Foster, 3rd Bt. was born on 1 April 1860.¹ He was the son of Sir William Foster, 2nd Bt. and Georgina Armit.¹ He married Aileen Ethel Portman, daughter of Colonel Augustus Berkeley Portman, on 10 October 1885.¹ He died on 14 June 1948 at age 88.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Foster, of the city of Norwich [U.K., 1838] on 17 February 1911.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1918.¹

     Harriet Wills was the daughter of Captain Thomas George Wills.¹ She married Sir William Foster, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Foster, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Day, on 25 June 1864.¹ She died on 24 April 1891.¹
     From 25 June 1864, her married name became Foster.¹

     Captain Thomas Hudson Foster was born on 31 December 1867.¹ He was the son of Sir William Foster, 2nd Bt. and Harriet Wills.¹ He died on 21 July 1950 at age 82, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹
