     John Bell Simpson was born on 29 April 1837.1 He was the son of Robert Simpson and Joanna Young.1 He married, firstly, Annie Elizabeth Thomlinson, daughter of William Ashbridge Thomlinson, on 22 April 1863.1 He married, secondly, Clara Draper, daughter of Francis Draper, on 14 January 1886.1 He died on 26 April 1926 at age 88.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He lived at Bradley Hall, Ryton, County Durham, England.1

     Robert Simpson was born on 28 December 1814.1 He was the son of John Simpson and Anne Bell.1 He married, firstly, Joanna Young, daughter of John Young, on 17 September 1836.1 He married, secondly, Caroline Armstrong, daughter of Edward Armstrong, on 10 September 1874.1 He died on 11 January 1894 at age 79.1
     He lived at Moor House, Ryton, County Durham, England.1
