     William Ramsay was born on 15 June 1834.¹ He was the son of Sir George Ramsay, 9th Bt. and Emily Eugenia Lennon.¹ He married Harriot Wollaston Dennys, daughter of General Julius Bentall Dennys, on 20 June 1867.¹ He died on 30 November 1901 at age 67.¹
