     Major Nigel Gresley was born on 25 June 1903.1 He was the son of Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley and Ethel Frances Fullager.1 He married, firstly, Kathleen Elise Lambe, daughter of W. P. Lambe, on 14 January 1937.1 He and Kathleen Elise Lambe were divorced in 1941.1 He married, secondly, Natasha Tshinpayeva on 14 July 1945.1 He and Natasha Tshinpayeva were divorced in 1949.1 He married, thirdly, Muriel Elizabeth Geen, daughter of George Geen, in 1949.1 He died on 13 December 1962 at age 59.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in the The Rifle Brigade.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the Second World War, in France and India.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1
