     Brigadier Denys Edward Osbert Thackwell was the son of Brig.-Gen. Osbert Montague Roche Thackwell.¹ He married Patricia Mary Talbot, daughter of Major Edward Charles Talbot and Dorothy Maynard Gibbons, on 17 July 1937.¹ He died in 1990.¹
     He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Engineers.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹ He was president of the International Geographical Association between 1964 and 1968.¹

     Captain John Grey Turnbull was born on 4 October 1928.¹ He is the son of Reverend Peveril Hayes Turnbull and Lady Jane Grey.¹ He married Sara Charlotte Thackwell, daughter of Brigadier Denys Edward Osbert Thackwell and Patricia Mary Talbot, on 29 August 1959.¹

     Her married name became Turnbull.

     William Grey, 9th Earl of Stamford was born on 18 April 1850.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Grey and Harriet White.² He married Elizabeth Louisa Penelope Theobald, daughter of Reverend Charles Theobald, on 18 April 1895.¹ He died on 24 May 1910 at age 60.¹
     He was educated at Bradfield College, Reading, Berkshire, England.¹ He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Stamford [E., 1628] on 19 June 1890.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Baron Grey, of Groby, co. Leicester [E., 1603] on 19 June 1890.¹
