Sir John Amhurst Selby-Bigge, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 June 1892 at Headington, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Sir Lewis Amhurst Selby-Bigge, 1st Bt. and Edith Lindsay Davison.1 He married, firstly, Ruth Humphries, daughter of Edward Walter Humphries, on 6 July 1914.2 He and Ruth Humphries were divorced in 1944.2 He married, secondly, Marija Bacik, daughter of Martin Bacik, on 3 January 1946.2 He died on 3 October 1973 at age 81.3
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.3 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 He was educated at University College London, London, England.3 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps.3 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.3 He was sub-editor of BBC European News Service between 1942 and 1943.3 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1946.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Selby-Bigge, of King's Sutton, co. Northampton [U.K., 1919] on 24 May 1951.4 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.3
