     Samuel Strachey was the son of John Strachey and Christiana Staveley.1 He died in 1762 at Minorca, Spain, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the Siege of Minorca in 1762.1

     Venerable John Strachey was born on 30 July 1738.1 He was the son of Henry Strachey and Helen Clerk.1 He married Anne Wombwell, daughter of George Wombwell, on 23 May 1770.1 He died on 17 December 1818 at age 80.1
     He held the office of Archdeacon of Suffolk.1 He was Prebendary at Llandaff, Glamorgan, Wales.1 He was Chaplain in Ordinary to King George III.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1 He graduated with a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)1
