     From 7 April 1982, her married name became Hamilton.

     Major Robert Edward John Compton was born on 11 July 1922.3 He was the son of Major Edward Robert Francis Compton and Sylvia Farquharson of Invercauld.4 He married Ursula Jane Kenyon-Slaney, daughter of Major Robert Orlando Rodolph Kenyon-Slaney and Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia Hamilton, on 5 July 1951.1 He died on 14 November 2009 at age 87.5
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3 He fought in the Second World War in 1944, where he was wounded.4 He gained the rank of Major in the Coldstream Guards.3 He was with Time Life International between 1954 and 1990.4 He held the office of High Sheriff of North Yorkshire in 1978.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for North Yorkshire in 1981.3 He was awarded the Victoria Medal of Honour of the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993.4 He lived in 2003 at The Manor House, Marton le Moor, Ripon, Yorkshire, EnglandG.3

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1945 and 1948 in the Grenadier Guards.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire in 1965.2

     Meriel Rose Buxton was born on 16 April 1940.1 She is the daughter of Captain Joseph Gurney Fowell Buxton and Elizabeth Langley Barbour.2 She married, firstly, Robert Ivan Kenyon-Slaney, son of Major Robert Orlando Rodolph Kenyon-Slaney and Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia Hamilton, on 7 January 1964.1 She married, secondly, Peter Maurice Afia on 12 December 1985.1
     She was Extra Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra.1 From 7 January 1964, her married name became Kenyon-Slaney. From 12 December 1985, her married name became Afia. She lived in 2003 at Plowden House, Hatton, Shifnal, Shropshire, EnglandG.1
