     Michael Auriol Buxton was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland in 1953.1
