     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for Yorkshire.1

     Louis Henry Stapleton was born on 25 July 1874.1 He was the son of John Stapleton and Frances Dorothea King.1 He married Annetta Lima Smith Perossi, daughter of A. Perossi, on 2 July 1908.1 He died on 9 February 1949 at age 74.1
     He fought in the Matabele War in 1893.1 He fought in the Jameson's Raid in 1895, where he was wounded.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 19th Hussars.1 He fought in the First World War.1
