Gerald Rivers Maltby and Hersey Eliza Cecilia Elliot.2 He married Aline Doris Saunderson, daughter of Henry Somerset Saunderson and Claire St. George Ord, on 23 February 1918 at St. Mary Boltons, Brompton, London, England.1 He died on 25 December 1940 at age 54, killed in action on board SS. Jumna when she was sank by Admiral Hipper.1
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in the Royal Navy.1
