     Margaret Simpson was the daughter of Alexander Simpson of Concraig.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Hon. Mark Napier, son of Francis Napier, 6th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Lady Henrietta Hope.1 She died on 8 August 1829.1
     Her married name became Napier.1

     Mark Napier was born on 24 July 1798.1 He was the son of Francis Napier and Mary Elizabeth Jane Douglas Hamilton.1 He married Charlotte Ogilvy, daughter of Alexander Ogilvy and Marcia Anne Napier, on 29 December 1842.1 He died on 22 November 1869 at age 71.1
     He held the office of Sheriff of Dumfries and Galloway.1

     He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)1
