     Lt.-Col. Sir John Foster George Ross of Bladensburg was born in 1848.2 He was the son of David Ross of Bladensburg and Hon. Harriet Margaretta Skeffington.2 He married Hon. Blanche Amelia Skeffington, daughter of John Skeffington, 10th Viscount Massereene and Olivia Deane Grady, on 6 January 1870.1 He died on 10 July 1926.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)1 He lived at Rostrevor House, Rostrevor, County Down, Ireland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was Aide-de-CAmp to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland.2 He was Chief Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Police.2 He fought in the Sudan Campaign in 1885.2
