     Henry Skeffington, 3rd Earl of Massereene was born circa 1744.1 He was the son of Clotworthy Skeffington, 1st Earl of Massereene and Anne Eyre.1 He died on 12 June 1811, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Belfast between 1768 and 1797.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Antrim between 1779 and 1800.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Regiment of Horse.1 He held the office of Governor of Cork between 1792 and 1811.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron of Loughneagh, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 28 February 1805.1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Massereene, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 28 February 1805.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Skeffington, of Fisherwicke, co. Staffs [E., 1627] on 28 February 1805.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Massereene [I., 1756] on 28 February 1805.1

Sir William Skeffington1

     Sir William Skeffington was the son of Thomas Skeffington.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Digby, daughter of Sir Everard Digby.1 He married, secondly, Anne Digby, daughter of Sir John Digby.1 He died in 1534.1
     He held the office of Lord Deputy of Ireland, during the reign of King HEnry VIII.1 He held the office of Master of Ordnance.1 Sir William Skeffington also went by the nick-name of 'the Gunner'.1
