     John Thornton Lorimer was born in 1922.¹ He was the son of Surgn.-Cdr. James Lorimer.² He married Judith Eileen Hughes-Onslow, daughter of Commander Sir Geoffrey Henry Hughes-Onslow and Hon. Eileen Mabel Lowther Crofton, on 20 June 1945.^1,2 He died on 1 December 2019.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Service.²
