     Claude Norman Champion de Crespigny was born on 14 June 1888.1 He was the son of Sir Claude Champion de Crespigny, 4th Bt. and Louisa Margaret McKerrall.1 He married Olive Clara Rose Gordon, daughter of Albert Edward Gordon and Olive Boyes, circa August 1914.1 He died on 1 September 1914 at age 26 at Nery, France, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd Dragoon Guards (Queen's Bays).1 He fought in the First World War.1

     He was a naval officer and part of the temporary British governance of the Dutch East Indies between 1811 and 1816.1 He was a British planter at Indonesia.1
