He and Marguerite Sophie Charlotte Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont were divorced on 10 July 1979. He married, secondly, Christa Blosinger on 17 August 1979 at Schloss Eulbach^G.
     He gained the title of Graf zu Erbach-Erbach. He was given the name of Franz August Gustav Adam Hubertus Friedrich Wilhelm Hans Karl at birth.
