     General Samuel Rogers Strover was born on 15 July 1784 at Newington Butts, Walworth, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of John Strover and Mary Dudley.2 He married, firstly, Mary Ann Strover on 21 November 1811 at Stoke Damerel, Devon, England.3 He married, secondly, Lillias Elizabeth Tucker on 15 December 1818 at Bombay, India.2 He married, thirdly, Harriet Strover, daughter of Thomas Strover and Mary (?), on 14 July 1828 at Great Stanmore, London, England.2 He died on 20 January 1853 at age 68 at Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He was commissioned in 1801 with the rank of Cadet, in the service of the East India Company Service.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Bombay Artillery, East India Company Service.1,2
