     Hon. John Alexander Gore Coutanche was born in 1925.1 He was the son of Alexander Moncrieff Coutanche, Baron Coutanche and Ruth Sophia Joan Gore.1 He married, firstly, Jean Veronica Dawson, daughter of Alexander Thomson Dawson, in 1949.1 He married, secondly, Gilliam Margaret Fisher, daughter of Brigadier John Douglas Fellowes Fisher, in 1978.1 He died on 19 October 2006 at Jersey, Channel Islands.1
     He held the office of Lieutenant Bailiff and Jurat of the Royal Court [Jersey].1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)2
