     Karl-Günther Paul Otto von Hase was born on 15 December 1917.1 He is the son of Karl Paul Rudolf Günther von Hase and unknown Hicketier.2 He married Renate Stumpff on 13 February 1945.1 Karl-Günther Paul Otto and Renate were also married in a religious ceremony on 30 December 1949.1
     He gained the rank of officer between 1936 and 1945 in the Wehrmacht.1 He was educated between 1951 and 1952 at Training College for Diplomats, Germany.1 He was educated in 1952 at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., U.S.A.G.1 He was with the German Foreign Service between 1953 and 1977.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1965.1 He held the office of State Secretary for Minister of Defence [Germany] between 1968 and 1969.1 He held the office of German Ambassador to the U.K. between 1970 and 1977.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1972.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Honour Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Manchester University, Manchester, Lancashire, England, in 1987.1 He lived in 2003 at Am Stadtwald 60, Bonn, Germany.1
