     Gwendolen Mary Vavasour was born on 25 August 1888. She was the daughter of Henry Dunstan Vavasour and Bertha Eleanor Mary Redwood. She married, firstly, Ian Featherstone Johnston, son of Hon. Sir Charles John Johnston, on 5 February 1910. She and Ian Featherstone Johnston were divorced in 1935. She married, secondly, William Sellars Bennett in 1936.
     From 5 February 1910, her married name became Johnston. From 1936, her married name became Bennett.

     Ian Featherstone Johnston is the son of Hon. Sir Charles John Johnston. He married Gwendolen Mary Vavasour, daughter of Henry Dunstan Vavasour and Bertha Eleanor Mary Redwood, on 5 February 1910. He and Gwendolen Mary Vavasour were divorced in 1935.
