He married Henrietta Maria Arienwen Herbert, daughter of J. A. E. Herbert, on 24 November 1898. He died on 7 December 1925 at age 76.
     Major Hon. Walter Constable Constable-Maxwell gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel.

     Henrietta Maria Arienwen Herbert was the daughter of J. A. E. Herbert. She married Major Hon. Walter Constable Constable-Maxwell, son of William Constable-Maxwell, 10th Lord Herries of Terregles and Marcia Mary Vavasour, on 24 November 1898. She died on 5 March 1922.
     Her married name became Constable-Maxwell.
