     Diana Wake was born on 14 November 1915.1 She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Hereward Wake, 13th Bt. and Margaret Winifred Benson.2 She died on 11 March 1950 at age 34 at Bicester, Oxfordshire, England, killed in a riding accident at the Bicester Hunt Races.1
     She was Junior Commander in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.1
