     Mary Charlotte Smith was the daughter of Sir Charles Joshua Smith, 2nd Bt. and Mary Gosling.2 She married Lt.-Gen. Gaspard Le Marchant Tupper on 13 May 1861.1 She died on 22 April 1879. He d 2 July 1906.1
     Her married name became Tupper.

     From 1851, her married name became Close.1
