     Charles Edward Spearman was born on 10 September 1863.1 He was the son of Alexander Young Spearman and Louisa Anne Caroline Amelia Mainwaring.2 He married Frances Henrietta Priaulx Aikman, daughter of John Aikman and Alice Emily Carney, on 4 September 1901.1 He died on 17 September 1945 at age 82.1
     He was Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Leipzig, Honour LLD, FRS, hon memb: Br Psychological Soc, Kentucky Acad Sciences, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie, Psychotechnical Society Prague and Deutsche Akademie, for memb Société Française de Psychologie, in 1906.1

     From 4 September 1901, her married name became Spearman.
