Sir Jocelyn Edward Greville Stevens was born on 14 February 1932.2 He was the son of Major Charles Greville B. Stewart-Stevens and Betty Hulton.3,2 He married, firstly, Jane Armyne Sheffield, daughter of John Vincent Sheffield and Anne Margaret Faudel-Phillips, on 14 June 1956.1 He and Jane Armyne Sheffield were divorced in 1979.1 He married, secondly, Emma Margaret Tennant, daughter of Captain Sir Iain Mark Tennant and Lady Margaret Helen Isla Marion Ogilvy, in 2008.4 He died on 12 October 2014 at age 82.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He was managing director of the London Evening Stnadard in 1973.2 He was managing director of Beaverbrook Newspapers in 1974.2 He was Rector and Vice-Provost of the Royal College of Arts between 1984 and 1992.2 He was chairman of English Heritage between 1992 and 2000.2 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1993.1 He was appointed Knight in 1996.2
