     William Ford was born on 29 November 1821.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Ford, 2nd Bt. and Eliza Brady.2 He married Catherine Margaret Hodgson, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Anthony Hodgson, on 27 October 1845.1 He died on 18 June 1905 at age 83.1
     He was in the Bengal Civil Service (a bar and medal for good service at Delhi during Indian Mutiny) between 1842 and 1869.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)1 He lived at Ford Park, Chagford, Devon, England.1
