Frances Ann Hawkes is the daughter of Dr. A. Whitfield Hawkes.1 She married, firstly, Julian Berry before 1978.1 She married, secondly, Sir Henry John Sebastian Rumbold, 11th Bt., son of Sir Horace Anthony Claud Rumbold, 10th Bt. and Felicity Ann Bailey, on 6 October 1978.1

In 1642 with the office of the Great Wardrobe, took from London the Royal Standard set up at Nottingham.1 He was a royalist during the Civil War.1 He fought in the Battle of Naseby in 1645.1 He went to Cadiz, and returned after 1649.1 He was Secretary of the secret Council kept up in England by King Charles II during his exile.1
