Caithness [S., 1628] on 1 November 1921.¹ He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Mackay [N.S., 1627] on 1 November 1921.¹ He was educated at Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands^G.¹ He was naturalized as a British subject in 1938.¹ He was with the Foreign Office between 1939 and 1948.¹ He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1955 and 1959.¹ He lived at St. Johns, 11 High Cross Avenue, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland.¹

     Hon. Alexander Willem Rynhard Mackay was born on 7 December 1907.¹ He is the son of Eric Mackay, 12th Lord Reay and Baroness Maria Johanna Bertha Christina van Dedem.²
