     Sir John Geers Cotterell, 1st Bt. was born on 21 September 1757.¹ He was the son of Sir John Brookes-Cotterell and Anne Geers.¹ He married Frances Isabella Evans, daughter of Henry Michael Evans, on 4 January 1791.¹ He died on 26 January 1845 at age 87.¹
     Sir John Geers Cotterell, 1st Bt. gained the rank of Colonel in 1796 in the service of the Herefordshire Militia.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire between 1804 and 1831.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Cotterell, of Garnons, Herefordshire [U.K.] on 2 November 1805.¹

     Frances Isabella Evans was the daughter of Henry Michael Evans.¹ She married Sir John Geers Cotterell, 1st Bt., son of Sir John Brookes-Cotterell and Anne Geers, on 4 January 1791.¹ She died on 3 July 1813.¹
     Her married name became Cotterell.

     Anne Lettice Cotterell was born on 16 October 1933.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Richard Charles Geers Cotterell, 5th Bt. and Lady Lettice Lygon.² She married Charles Murray Kennedy St. Clair, 17th Lord Sinclair on 6 January 1968.¹
     Her married name became St. Clair. She lived in 2003 at Knocknalling, St. John's Town of Dalry, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.¹
