     Sir Peter Proby, 2nd Bt. was born on 4 December 1911.1 He was the son of Major Sir Richard George Proby, 1st Bt. and Betty Monica Murray.2 He married Blanche Harrison Cripps, daughter of Colonel Henry Harrison Cripps, on 15 January 1944.1 He died on 18 April 2002 at age 90.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Irish Guards.1 He was the bursar between 1953 and 1971 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was appointed Fellow, Chartered Land Agents' Society (F.L.A.S.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Proby, of Elton Hall, co. Huntingdon [U.K, 1952] on 15 January 1979.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cambridgeshire.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire between 1981 and 1984.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)1
