Virginia Brand was born on 31 August 1918.1 She was the daughter of Robert Henry Brand, 1st and last Baron Brand and Phyllis Langhorne.1 She married, firstly, John Metcalfe Polk, son of Frank Polk, on 9 December 1939.1 She married, secondly, Brigadier Sir Edward William Spencer Ford, son of Very Rev. Lionel George Bridges Justice Ford and Mary Catherine Talbot, on 1 December 1949.1 She died in 1995.2
