Margaret Chamberlain was the daughter of Michael Chamberlain.2 She married Alexander Monypenny, 22nd of Pitmilly, son of David Monypenny, 21st of Pitmilly and Ann Marjoribanks, in November 1767.1 She died in December 1797.1
After her marriage, Margaret Chamberlain was styled as Baroness Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.] in November 1767.1 From November 1767, her married name became Monypenny.1 They had three other sons and two daughters.1

David Monypenny, 23rd of Pitmilly was born in 1769.1 He was the son of Alexander Monypenny, 22nd of Pitmilly and Margaret Chamberlain.2 He married, firstly, Mary Stuart, daughter of Andrew Stuart.1 He married, secondly, Marie Sophia Abercromby, daughter of Sir George Abercromby of Birkenbog, 4th Bt. and Hon. Jane Ogilvy, on 16 September 1810.1 He died in 1850, without issue.1
He was a practising advocate.1 He succeeded as the 23rd Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.] on 22 December 1801.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Fife.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General [Scotland] in 1811.1 He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland] as Lord Pitmilly in 1813.1

William Tankerville Monypenny, 24th of Pitmilly was the son of Alexander Monypenny, 22nd of Pitmilly and Margaret Chamberlain.2 He married Hannah Spens, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Spens, 2nd of Craigsanquhar and Elizabeth Joanna Davidson, in 1844.1 He died on 10 January 1869, without issue.1
