Sir Harry Knottingham Newton 2nd Bt. was born on 2 April 1875.1 He is the son of Sir Alfred James Newton 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Jane Watson.2 He married Myrtle Irene Grantham, daughter of William Wilson Grantham, on 5 June 1920.1 He died on 22 June 1951 at age 76.1
He was barrister Lincoln's , Lieutenant City London, vice-chairman Harrods, Member of Parliament (M.P.) Harwich 1910–22, Honour Sec City Imp Vols serving Boer War 1900, Major Royal Army Service Corps 1914, Officer cmdg Chatham Adminve Dist, Dep Assist Di Inn 1899.1 He was also known as 2nd Baronet Newton [U.K. Life Peer].1 He graduated in 1898 with a Rugby and New College Oxford Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) , Master of Arts (M.A.) 1901).1 He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1
