Sir James Hope Nelson, 2nd Bt. was born on 26 February 1883.1 He was the son of Sir William Nelson, 1st Bt. and Margaret Hope.2 He married, firstly, Mary Isabel Vallel, daughter of Dr. Jules F. Vallel, on 26 September 1913.1 He and Mary Isabel Vallel were divorced in 1921.1 He married, secondly, Annie Cathleen Elizabeth Bryan, daughter of Lt.-Col. Loftus Bryan, on 24 September 1923.1 He died on 5 May 1960 at age 77, without issue.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Nelson, of Acton Park, Acton, co. Denbigh [U.K., 1912] on 7 July 1922.1
